Pollo Campero plans to expand to San Antonio, according to a recent press release.

“Pollo Campero, the fast-casual Central American chicken franchise with nearly 90 locations across the U.S., has identified San Antonio, Texas as its next market for franchise expansion. The team is confident in the brand’s ability to succeed in San Antonio and is looking to add a total of 15 restaurants with hopes to have three to five of those operational within the next five years,” the statement shares.

“San Antonio is an attractive market because we have a legacy customer base, a favorable business environment, an influx of immigrants that are familiar with the brand, and a growing population,” says Blas Escarcega, Director of Franchise Development.

He continues, “I’m native to the border region myself and have a personal understanding of the culture in San Antonio and I’m confident that Pollo Campero will succeed in the San Antonio area.”

For readers unfamiliar with the dining concept, founded in Guatemala in 1971, Pollo Campero has since expanded to and throughout the Caribbean, the Americas, Europe, and Asia. As its name suggests, the chain centers chicken as its primary product, serving it fried, baked, and grilled alongside sides such as french fries, rice, plantains, yucca, mashed potatoes, and coleslaw.

Addresses and opening dates have not been announced yet, so stay tuned for updates.
