According to a recently submitted permit application, popular Arkansas-based chicken franchise Slim Chickens is expanding its San Antonio footprint.

Coming to 14121 Culebra Road, the fast-casual eatery will land near establishments such as 7 Brew Coffee, Auto Zone, and Golden Chick.

What Now San Antonio reached out to the franchisee, Dan McGrath, but he could not provide additional information before the time of publication.

Nevertheless, the filing offers further insight — disclosing that construction of the new 3,570-square-foot restaurant began in December 2023 and is scheduled to be completed on June 10 of this year. For an estimated $2,000,000, Tulsa-based firm Cyntergy is carrying out the project.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the business, Slim Chickens offers a brief introduction on its website: “Our mission was (and is) simple: to make the best hand-breaded chicken tenders using only the freshest ingredients, served in a friendly atmosphere where people can relax and feel at home.”

In addition to chicken tenders, the Slim Chickens menu boasts chicken sandwiches, wraps, and salads, as well as sides including macaroni and cheese, fries, and potato salad.

According to the outpost’s Google location, it’s slated to open July 1. Follow Slim Chickens on Facebook for updates.
