Custom sandwich shop Barney Brown appears to be expanding to 330 West 34th Street, “coming soon” signage indicates.

Matt Baer, the former COO of cupcake brand Baked by Melissa, founded Barney Brown in 2015 to bring a new build-to-order sandwich spot to New Yorkers.

“Like most New Yorkers, we’re all huge fans of the vast variety of sandwiches that can be found in New York City, but sometimes we just want a sandwich done a very specific way, and we know you do too, so that’s what Barney Brown is here to do,” the Barney Brown website states. “We leave the creation process up to you and stay focused on what we’re good at, which is choosing the best possible ingredients for your creation to be built with. We searched high and low, and taste tested until our stomachs ached, to make sure we only selected the best of best.”

Barney Brown sources breads from local bakeries and uses local produce and ingredients. Customers can use its technology options to build sandwiches, save their creations for future orders and share sandwich creations with friends. Customers can use a visual sandwich builder to add ingredients to their sandwich creations as they build their order.

Barney Brown’s menu also offers featured sandwich creations, sandwiches previously designed by customers and catering services.

The brand currently has two locations open in Midtown and is moving into franchising, offering both virtual and storefront options. As of now, the brand has not revealed an opening timeline for the new spot. What Now New York reached out to the company but could not obtain further information prior to the time of publication.
