Formerly located at 6538 Gateway Avenue in Sarasota, local Italian restaurant Bruschetta Fine Italian Cuisine is preparing to reopen at a new location, this time at 2661 Mall Drive.

In its former home, the restaurant served a menu which opened appetizers like Gamberi e gorgonzola (sauteed shrimps in a light Gorgonzola sauce) and Calamari Fritti and, of course, its namesake bruschettas, including Classica (olive oil, garlic, tomatoes, basil and mozzarella), Salamino (Marinara sauce, Parmesan, mozzarella, pepperoni), and Gamberi e Pesto (Fresh shrimp, pesto sauce, fresh tomatoes).

On the entrée side are dishes like Pollo Milanese (fried chicken, arugula, cherry tomatoes, olive oil and lemon) and Salmone Livornese (olives, capers , onions in marinara sauce with a side of spaghetti).

What Now reached out on Wednesday to owner Marco Delzetti to ask when restaurant is expected to open. “We don’t know yet,” Delzetti said.

What Now is awaiting an update from Delzetti on Bruschetta’s opening timeline and new (if it is indeed new) menu.
