Son of a Bear closed its doors for good over the weekend.

The Korean tavern and soju bar announced the news on its Facebook page.

“The Bear is going to sleep,” the restaurant posted to the social media profile.

Son of a Bear’s last day in business was Saturday, Sept. 7.

Michael Lo and Chef George Yu of Korean Wives Hospitality Group were behind the short-lived Oakhurst restaurant, at 350 Mead Road Suite E and F.

Son of a Bear was open less than a year replacing Double Dragon Chinese, also from Lo and Yu, and also short-lived.

Korean Wives will now focus on opening Salaryman in East Lake, replacing Mary Hoopa’s.

“We know you’ll miss us, but don’t fret, we’re opening Salaryman very soon on the corner of Hosea and 2nd in East Lake, just a few blocks away,” according to the social media announcement.

“Some of your favorite dishes from {Son of a Bear} might even be on that new menu.”

Michael Lo did not immediately respond to What Now Atlanta’s request for comment Monday.
