Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based Mad Chicken is scouting Atlanta for corporately-owned locations, Irving Jacobson of The Shumacher Group, the firm representing the chicken chain in its expansion, Monday confirmed in an email to What Now Atlanta.

Mad Chicken is owned by Nabil Mutlaq, Ramez Aly, and Mohamed Elkady, and currently operates seven locations, according to its website.

Jacobson did not comment further but an advert seeking spaces for the restaurant indicates “metro Atlanta” as the target market with ideal spaces being end cap and ranging in size from 2,000 to 2,800 square feet.

Mad Chicken debuted its first location in 2017 with a focus on “real” food. “Mad Chicken started out of our love for good food and lack of real unprocessed ingredients in the food industry nowadays,” the restaurant’s website states. “Being born into the Egyptian culture, food was the main thing that brought our family and friends together, and we wanted to bring that passion and home feel for our customers as well.”

Mad Chicken serves tenders, wings, sandwiches, wraps, bowls, and salads as mains, and waffle fries, onion rings, mac n’ cheese, and coleslaw on the side.

“Fried food doesn’t always mean junk food when you use fresh, real, natural ingredients, and this is what our customers love about us,” the company writes on its website.
