Western & Atlantic will take space inside Switchyards.

Switchyards and Octane Coffee in a press release Wednesday announced collaboration plans on a “members-only” coffee shop in the downtown private club for design-minded entrepreneurs.

Western & Atlantic should open this fall, at 151 Spring Street, Michael Tavani, the proprietor behind Switchyards, told What Now Atlanta (WNA) in an email.

“Western & Atlantic gets its name from the railroad line whose terminus is the point at which Atlanta was founded,” Tavani said. “W&A is the only members-only coffee shop in the country (that we know of).”

Switchyards and W&A have three membership tiers:

  1. Full-time private workspace for $350/month
  2. Part-time 24/7 access to the first floor for $200/month
  3. Social membership which includes a subscription to a cultural monthly event series and evening access to W&A.

Plexus R&D is designing the W&A in addition to the rest of the interior building renovations for Switchyards, a 19,000-square-foot space in a 1920s building.

Tavani and his team should close on the building Thursday, April 30, according to Tavani.
