According to a recently submitted construction permit application, national fried chicken chain Bojangles is expanding in San Antonio.

Coming to 3003 SW Military Drive, the eatery will land near establishments such as Church’s Texas Chicken, Enterprise Rent-a-Car, and Taco Bell.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the business, Bojangles offers a brief introduction on its website, sharing, “Bojangles is a Carolina-born restaurant chain specializing in craveable Southern chicken, biscuits and tea made fresh daily from real recipes, and with a friendly smile.”

The statement continues, “Founded in 1977 as a single location in Charlotte, our beloved brand continues to grow nationwide.” Bojangles currently operates over 800 outposts across 17 states.

What Now San Antonio reached out to Chief Development Officer Jim Cannon to inquire about the expansion, but he could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, public records reveal that the construction of the new, freestanding, 2,655-square-foot spot is slated to begin on September 22 and finish on February 23, 2026. In total, the build will cost an estimated $4,079,628.

An opening date for the upcoming SW Military Drive location has not been announced yet. Stay tuned for updates.
