The owner of a deli in Little Village is getting ready to open his new shop in Lincoln Park he is calling Zeitlin’s Deli.
Sam Zeitlin takes pride in his current Zeitlin’s Delicatessen takeout location in Little Village at 3331 W 26th Street. As his many bagels, sandwiches and soups have become a success, he is expanding to 2203 N Clybourn Avenue in Lincoln Park. In an article from Eater Chicago, the team is planning on opening in June.
Zeitlin started out selling bagels on the street before opening his own location in Little Village. He moved to the city in 2018, and he was originally based in the Maryland/DC area and had worked in fine dining. He specializes in baking and launched his company Zeitlin Delicatessen during the pandemic.
The team recently took to social media to announce they are working on construction of the deli. They will be between Beck’s Chicago Bar & Grill and Pequod’s Pizza. Zeitlin is working with other local vendors at farmers markets to add additions to his menu at the new location.
Inside the new restaurant, customers can order in the front and sit down to eat in the back. They also work with delivery services Uber Eats, Grubhub and Doordash, and bagels are sold wholesale online.
