A popular ramen chain is preparing to expand its noodly tendrils throughout the DMV. Local-and sole regional-Jinya Ramen franchisee Sam Shoja is scouting locations in the area for new storefronts beyond simply DC, reports the Washington Business Journal.
Shoja has been steadily laying the groundwork for a DMV ramen empire; to date, however, all of his efforts have been concentrated in the District proper. The entrepreneur has two Jinya’s scheduled to open this summer, one in Georgetown and the other on the Wharf. However, he is now turning his attentions towards other local markets.
Shoja is specifically courting spots in Fairfax and Loudoun Counties in Virginia and Prince George’s in Maryland. He’s not identified specific storefronts, however the suburbs hold a unique appeal, now that Shoja’s laid down a solid foundation for Jinya in DC. The neighborhoods surrounding the District will be a safer bet for hospitality, given the uncertain nature of tariffs and federal workers.
Jinya Ramen was launched in Los Angeles in 2010. Committed to crafting authentic and delicious interpretations of the Japanese favorite, the chain has more than 60 locations open and big expansion plans on its mind.
