Eat Up Drive In, a family-owned, fast-casual restaurant located at 4001 E Indian School Road in Phoenix’s Arcadia neighborhood, has temporarily closed following a fire within the building.
The restaurant, owned and operated by Caitlin and Ryan Jocque of Jocque Concepts, closed after the Phoenix Fire Department responded to a working fire in the attic just after 7 p.m. on April 27, according to AZ Central. Investigators were on the scene to determine the location and cause of the fire. A video posted on Reddit that same evening showed flames surging from behind the restaurant’s sign and plumes of dark smoke rising into the air. On April 28, the restaurant shared a statement on Instagram announcing that everyone was safe. However, it confirmed the restaurant will remain closed for the foreseeable future.
Eat Up Drive In in Arcadia offered a menu that combines classic comfort food with a modern twist. Signature items include the Main Chick sandwich, featuring crispy chicken breast with house slaw, Havarti cheese, and pickles on a brioche bun, and the Hot Chick sandwich, which adds a spicy kick to the crispy chicken. The menu also features wood-grilled options, such as the cheeseburger and flat iron steak, as well as hearty sides like mac ‘n’ cheese and roasted broccoli. Family-style meals are available, designed to serve up to four people and include a main dish and two sides. The restaurant’s pet-friendly patio provided a comfortable outdoor dining option for guests with pets.
Jocque Concepts is a Phoenix-based hospitality group known for creating distinctive dining experiences throughout the Valley. Their portfolio includes The Montauk, a coastal-inspired eatery in Old Town Scottsdale; Diego Pops, offering a modern take on Mexican cuisine; and The Hot Chick, a 21-and-over fried chicken and game bar. The group has also launched Pretty Please Lounge, The Lighthouse Cafe, and American Junkie. In early 2025, they introduced Kill Club, a vintage-themed lounge in Scottsdale’s Entertainment District. Additionally, they are developing Jones, a new American restaurant in Old Town Scottsdale, slated to open later this year. Now the team will have to spend additional time on Eat Up Drive In to hopefully reopen the concept later this year.
