Founded in California in 1994, Wetzel’s Pretzels has taken its “Handheld Happiness” all over the country, to hundreds of fresh bakeries. Now the brand is preparing to open a new location at Dadeland Mall, inside Macy’s.
What Now confirmed the news with franchisee Sherine Metayer on Friday. Metayer, a professor at Miami-Dade College, says the brand was clear match for her goals.
“I was doing market research, and I loved their mission and values,” Metayer said. “They’re very efficient,” Metayer added, explaining what makes the brand’s product stand out so starkly: “good, quality ingredients.”
Wetzel’s is a constant favorite. You can almost hear the salivation in coverage by the Miami New Times: “From the buttery, classic original pretzel to sweet cinnamon sugar twists, Wetzel’s serves up its doughy delights fresh from the oven. Every pretzel is hand-rolled and baked on-site, giving customers that signature smell that hits before you even spot the stand.”
The Wetzel’s Pretzels website puts it this way: “Every Wetzel’s Pretzels bakery lives by the original vision of its founders; that each super-premium pretzel will be crafted from fresh dough and baked in-store consistently throughout the day, to ensure a delicious offering for each customer, regardless of when the craving for a pretzel strikes.”
