Sholeh Abounasseri, an artist at heart with a vivid imagination, is set to open Rumi, a new wine bar at 2937 Lincoln Avenue in the heart of North Park.

Named after the 13th-century Persian poet, Rumi aims to offer more than just wine—it’s a place for community connection and creative expression, according to San Diego Magazine. The cozy, 700-square-foot space will seat 48 guests indoors and outdoors, and though it won’t have a kitchen, it will feature a curated selection of chocolates to pair with wine and tea. The wine list will focus on smaller, women-owned wineries, local organic wines, and unique selections that reflect Abounasseri’s passion for discovering hidden gems.

Set to open in late June or early July 2025, Rumi marks Sholeh Abounasseri’s first venture into the food and beverage world after launching Our Story boutique and charm bar in November 2023, right next door. With a three-year lease signed, she’s committed to establishing a lasting presence in the community. Focused on wine, Rumi will be a perfect fit in the area, joining nearby Bivouac Ciderworks and 619 Spirits to make North Park a true mecca for all things drinking.

Another reason this will be an excellent location for the new wine bar in North Park is that the area is known for its lively foot traffic, making it an ideal spot for people to stop by and unwind. With trendy shops and popular spots nearby, Rumi will attract locals and visitors looking for a cozy place to relax, connect, and enjoy a glass of wine. Surrounded by the neighborhood’s vibrant, community-focused vibe, the location is a perfect fit for the welcoming atmosphere Sholeh Abounasseri envisions.
