Erewhon, the upscale organic grocery chain, will open its first Ventura County location at The Lakes at Thousand Oaks at 2200 E Thousand Oaks Blvd.
The company’s newest location is set to open at the shopping center in Summer 2026, according to a media alert sent to What Now Media Group. This will mark Erewhon’s 11th Southern California store and its debut in the Conejo Valley. Known for its premium organic offerings and wellness-focused mission, the market will include 100% USDA Certified Organic produce, on-site hot meals, and a bakery offering organic breads, pastries, and desserts. In addition to its food offerings, the Thousand Oaks store will serve as a community hub, hosting wellness events and experiences designed for residents.
Erewhon offers a variety of freshly prepared foods, including baked goods, hot dishes, and ready-to-eat meals. Their bakery features options like croissants, muffins, and gluten-free treats, while the hot bar includes dishes such as coconut turmeric chicken tenders, buffalo cauliflower, and sweet potato taquitos. All items are made daily at Erewhon’s 65,000-square-foot commissary kitchen, supporting its commitment to fresh, high-quality offerings across its locations. Erewhon is also expected to continue sourcing ingredients from top local farms such as Apricot Lane Farms and Harry’s Berries.
Founded in 1968, Erewhon has grown into a Certified B Corporation and Certified Organic Retailer. The brand is recognized for its strict quality standards, commitment to ethical sourcing, and support for regenerative and biodynamic agriculture. The Lakes at Thousand Oaks is a 48,000-square-foot retail and dining center featuring landscaped lakes, a rose garden, and a playground. The property is adjacent to the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza and serves as a gathering place for the surrounding community, making it an excellent location for a new Erewhon.
