According to recent public records, Abbott’s Frozen Custard’s plan to open 100 locations in Texas continues with a new Hutto spot.
The newest spot, run by Southern Scoops, will be found at 100 Chris Kelley Blvd. Estimated at $1,000,000, the “new construction of a 1,280 sq ft Abbott’s” is estimated to reach completion by the end of August.
“We got excited about Abbott a couple years ago and believe that it is an outstanding product that will speak for itself. That is why we committed to such a large development agreement; we have a company that’s over 120 years old and has clearly stood the test of time and now it’s time that we bring it to the great state of Texas,” Barron said in an email to ABJ in 2023.
The current Austin locations are corporate-owned. Barron said the franchising process will begin
“We are buying property and building freestanding stores so that the consistency is the same everywhere we go,” Barron said.
