One of the DFW’s favorite food trucks is hitting the breaks-but is far from stopping. Hamburgottis, a family-run outfit beloved for its delicious smash-burgers, is planning its first brick and mortar location, and construction is right around the corner.

The concept will be moving its spatulas into a renovated space at 1057 South Sherman Street, Unit 2. Paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation regarding Hamburgottis new home shows that the completed project will provide the restaurant with 1,364 square feet with which to greet and serve customers.

And when, precisely, can DFW diners sink their teeth into one of the eatery’s signature burgers? There is no definitive answer to that yet, however submitted forms show that construction should begin on the restaurant on July 1 and wrap by December 1. While this does not provide an absolute timeline, it does suggest that Hamburgottis could be open and ready to feed satisfied customers by late 2025 or early 2026.

Hamburgottis is the passion project of Mohamed and Morad Barghouti. The concept’s name is a whimsical portmanteau of the brothers’ last name and signature dish; the duo spent years developing their burger recipe out of pure love of the beef. The website explains that while the pair didn’t set out to create a dining sensation, the opportunity became too good to miss: “Mohamed and Morad have been making burgers in the backyard for years. Over time, our recipes evolved, the burgers skyrocketed the taste buds of our family and friends. The reoccurring theme was “BRO, I would pay for this”.

No word yet on whether or not the storefront’s menu will deviate from the food truck’s, however guests can certainly look forward to a superior smash burger with all the fixings, made fresh.
