James Coffee Co., a well-established family-owned artisan coffee roaster based in San Diego, is expanding its footprint with a new location set to open soon at 170 Main Street in Vista.
The company’s fifth location is set to move into the current home of Archer’s Arrow Coffee House, according to a recent liquor license application that SanDiegoVille first reported. Founded in 2014 by brothers David and Jacob Kennedy, along with David’s wife Carina, the company has grown from its original roasting facility in Escondido to multiple cafes across the San Diego area. The new Vista cafe will join existing locations in Little Italy, Bankers Hill, and North Park, with plans also underway for a Carmel Mountain Ranch spot by late 2025.
Known for small-batch, handcrafted coffee roasts, James Coffee Co. emphasizes quality by sourcing single-origin beans and crafting proprietary blends. Their menu features espresso, drip coffee, cold brew, lattes, teas, and pastries, alongside branded merchandise and monthly coffee subscriptions. While the exact opening date of this new location is currently unknown, customers can expect the same delicious options found at the company’s other locations.
In addition to serving some incredible coffee, the company is committed to sustainability. James Coffee Co. eliminates single-use cups, uses recycled packaging, and operates a glass-jar cold brew exchange program. The company also supports the local community by offering military discounts and collaborating with local artists. With a reputation for quality coffee and a distinctive industrial-chic cafe vibe, James Coffee Co.’s new Vista location is expected to become a popular destination for coffee lovers in the area.
