Summer’s heat can be a bitter pill to swallow, but a cool, delicious ice cream cone helps make the season a little sweeter. Luckily for Frisco locals, a popular Ohio institution is bringing some refreshment and relief to the DFW, just in time for the warmest months. Handel’s Ice Cream will be opening in the area next month, courtesy of a team of local franchisees, reports Culture Map Dallas.

The ice cream parlor is setting up shop at 13600 Coit Road. The Frisco storefront will be the fourth Handel’s for brothers Jackson and Spencer Moore, who also operate shops in McKinney, Plano, and Little Elm. According to paperwork filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, the space will provide Handel’s with 1,800 square feet with which to serve customers.

Construction for the project-which began on April 1 of this year-wrapped in early June. Craig Moore confirmed with What Now Dallas that while a precise opening date is not yet available, delicious scoops are nearly in sight. He states that Handel’s will be ready in around three weeks.

Handel’s is certain to be a welcome addition to the Frisco ice cream scene. The website explains what makes the brand so special, saying: “Handel’s Homemade Ice Cream has been made fresh at each store since 1945. We use an abundance of only the best tasting ingredients and are proud to be recognized as the #1 ice cream on the planet by National Geographic Magazine!”
