A new restaurant and bar is heading to El Dorado Hills, taking over the former site of The Purple Place Bar & Grill.

Local residents and business partners Eric Rushing and Thomas Holzmann are behind the new concept at 363 Green Valley Rd in the Green Valley Center. In a conversation with What Now Sacramento, Rushing confirmed that the new spot will come with a fresh name, though he’s not quite ready to reveal it.

Rushing is no stranger to the Sacramento hospitality scene. His impressive roster of ventures includes The Cabin, Goldfield Trading Post, Tack Room, and Ace of Spades. He’s also behind the soon-to-open Yager Lodge, a cocktail lounge and restaurant set to debut in Folsom within the next few weeks.

This will be Holzmann’s first foray into the restaurant business, but the partners have big plans for the El Dorado Hills space. Rushing told the Sacramento Business Journal that the new spot will serve American fare and feature live entertainment, though it won’t function as a full-blown concert venue.

“We have a bar and restaurant concept and name change that we will reveal very soon, likely in the next couple of weeks,” he said. “We are just waiting to finalize some details and branding.”

The team plans to paint over the building’s signature purple exterior and make some light cosmetic upgrades to refresh the space. If all goes according to plan, they’ll welcome guests to the new venue in about six months.

Rushing promised to share more details soon, so keep an eye out for updates as the new concept takes shape.
