LDG Development LLC to Begin $100 Million Housing Project
Southeast Dallas is soon to become the site of an affordable housing project by the LDG Development firm. The project will start in January 2026 with a $100 million investment. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has registered it. This affordable housing project will be supported by the Dallas City Council. City documents show that the affordable units are for households earning at or below 60% of the area median income.
Construction Timeline
According to the city documents, the project is to commence in January 2026. Completion is targeted for December 2027. This is a privately funded project that will be developed on private property. The company has been developing several projects over the years since its establishment in 1994. This is one of the other affordable housing projects that the company has undertaken.
Dallas City Council Approves Low-Income Housing Tax Credits
The Dallas Business Journal states that the Dallas City Council will support the project. They have awarded low-income housing tax credits to LDG Development. The federal program provides tax incentives to developers to spur the construction or renovation of affordable rental housing, attracting investment from the private sector. This encourages investors to fund projects. It helps build and maintain low-income housing.
LDG Development’s 180-unit Legacy on Belt Line and 204-unit Heights at UNT Station are also recipients of the tax credits. Projects like this are seen as vital to addressing housing affordability during periods of economic uncertainty. Affordable housing developments like this contribute to long-term economic stability in the region.
