According to SF Eater, the founders of the now-closed dining concept Lord Stanley and the former owner of the restaurant Serpentine are working together to debut a new concept, Wolfsbane.
Coming to 2495 Third Street, taking over the former Serpentine space, the eatery will land near establishments such as Dogpatch Saloon, the Italian restaurant Marcella’s Lasagneria, and the Greek restaurant Souvla.
What Now San Francisco reached out to Rupert Blease of Lord Stanley to inquire about his plans for the upcoming spot, but he could not provide additional information before publication.
Nevertheless, the Journal reports that “popular Lord Stanley dishes including onion petals and sherry vinegar may appear on the 10-course menus, but the much more intimate space will highlight seasonal rotations first and foremost.”
For readers who didn’t have a chance to visit Lord Stanley while it was still in operation, the Michelin-starred Modern European restaurant from co-chefs and husband-and-wife owners Rupert and Carrie Blease was known for its tasting menu that featured simple, ingredient-driven fare.
Serpetine, which was owned by Tommy Halvorson, offered brunch and Southern-style menu items such as burgers, brisket, and roasted beets.
An opening date has not been announced yet. Stay tuned for updates.
