Fusion Donuts Cafe and Lounge is expanding to Gig Harbor this summer.

Owned by Alberto Pena, the new location will open at the Peninsula Shopping Center, 3110 Judson St. This marks the second Fusion Donuts outpost, joining the original at 2102 Commerce St. in downtown Tacoma.

Fusion operates as a café by day and a lounge by night, offering two distinct menus. The AM café menu features specialty coffee made with Dancing Goats blends and signature donuts. Popular choices include a tropical guava jam-filled donut, strawberry shortbread topped with strawberry buttercream and crumbs, and a cookies-and-cream donut.

The PM lounge menu offers small plates such as calamari, steak or shrimp tacos, avocado flatbread and fries served with goat cheese fondue. Cocktails include Espresso Tiramisu, Pineapple Old Fashioned, Blackberry Coconut Mojito, and margaritas like spiced cucumber and watermelon. Customers can also order a margarita flight with four smaller pours of their choice.

The inspiration is simple. It’s, “the enjoyment of starting your day off on a happy note with a sweet treat and speciality coffee until 4pm and unwinding after a long day with good people and great food after 4pm at the 21 and up cocktail bar,” the website reads

Fusion Donuts Cafe and Lounge is open seven days a week with varying hours: 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday and Tuesday; 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; 6 a.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday; and 6 a.m. to 10 p.m. Sunday.

What Now Seattle contacted Peno about the expansion and opening date. This article may be updated.
