A new coffee and sandwich shop is set to open in Lakeside under the name Lakeside Social, located at 12245 Woodside Avenue.

The new eatery will move into the former home of Little Miss Brewing, according to co-owner Dawn Whitebread-Evans, who tells What Now San Diego that customers can expect coffee, acai bowls, bagel and croissant sandwiches, as well as keto and paleo-friendly breakfast options. Salads are expected to be added later, and all coffee will be roasted in-house at the company’s existing roasting facility, Santos Coffee House in North Park.

Whitebread-Evans is launching the business with Kristina Whitebread-Evans, who also serves as the company’s Roast Master. Both bring years of experience in hospitality to the project. While an exact opening date has not been confirmed, the owners are targeting sometime next month. Dawn Whitebread-Evans hopes to open as soon as August 2, though she notes that date is unlikely given current timelines.

The interior will feature a “cowboy chic” design and a black and gold color scheme, in tribute to the Lakeside community and El Capitan High School, whose school colors and mascot inspired the branding. The two business owners say they take pride in being part of the Lakeside community and hope to bring a welcoming addition to the neighborhood, offering a space where locals can visit and socialize over a cup of coffee.
