A unique café concept is preparing to open its doors in Sacramento’s Rosemont neighborhood.

Shahmaran Cafe is “coming soon” to 8887 Folsom Blvd, according to the business’s Instagram page. Co-owner Uygar Çiçek briefly confirmed the news with What Now Sacramento but declined to share additional details at the time.

However, the café’s Instagram provides a glimpse of what’s in store:

Dear friends from all around the world, get ready to gather at a table where different flavors and cultures unite! 🌍 Shahmaran Cafe will be a place where every color, language, and heart meets.

Although the full menu has yet to be released, early teasers suggest an emphasis on Middle Eastern cuisine. Expect offerings ranging from lahmacun (a savory flatbread) and pizza to coffee, dessert, and mocktails.

Shahmaran Cafe is also positioning itself as more than just a coffee shop—it aims to be a cultural gathering place. Posts describe it as a “global meeting point” filled with “sincerity and friendship,” promising not just food and drinks but also community and entertainment.

The name pays homage to the legend of Shahmaran, a mythical figure from Turkish and Kurdish folklore who is half-woman, half-snake, and symbolizes wisdom, compassion, and the divine feminine.

Once open, Shahmaran Cafe plans to welcome guests daily from 8 a.m. to 1 a.m.
