Calypso Cafe is looking to bring its popular health-focused menu back to West Nashville. They are looking to expand operations at 3307 Charlotte Avenue — which they currently use for catering and delivery via UberEats and DoorDash — and open a full-service restaurant at the address, according to a recent Facebook announcement.

“We are currently working on staffing, so that we can open up for call-in and walk-in to-go orders. Stay-tuned!” the announcement states. “And yes, we will eventually open this location for those that want to spend some time inside with us. Thanks for your patience and loyalty!”

Calypso Cafe has not been open on the west side since the pandemic.

Currently, Calypso Cafe has one full-service location operating in Berry Hill. The Nashville staple focuses on providing high-quality, health-centric dishes at affordable prices. Menu offerings include salads, pulled BBQ white chicken, rotisserie chicken, sandwiches and sides like black beans and sweet potatoes.

Earlier this year, Calypso Cafe experienced a change in ownership. Original owners Allison and Phil Brooks — who had been operating the brand since 1989 — sold it to David and Sally Parker. At the time, the new owners expressed plans to expand through longer hours of operation and through growth to additional locations.

The team hopes to open for full-service dine-in at the Charlotte location by the end of the year, according to reporting by the Nashville Business Journal.

  • I am so excited to hear this news! I so enjoyed eating at the CC when it was located in the Arcade and again on Elliston! Yay to black bean chicken nachos!?

  • Please open one in East Nashville. With both the tornado and Covid, we lost our restaurant and all the good people who worked there.
