Well Body Pilates is preparing to open its third studio at 116 North Main Street in Goodlettsville, where co-owners Elizabeth Wilkinson and her husband, Doran Danoff, have lived for the past 10 years. Wilkinson told WhatNow Nashville that the studio is under construction, with a  grand opening planned for January 2027.

Wilkinson launched Well Body Pilates in East Nashville in 2016, later expanding to Hendersonville. The Goodlettsville studio marks the next step for the business, but it also represents a personal milestone for the couple: they own the building where the new studio will operate.

In an Instagram announcement, Wilkinson shared why the property purchase matters after years of navigating rising commercial rents in Nashville. “This is such a meaningful milestone, creating stability for our family business and securing the studio’s future for years to come,” she wrote.

For the couple, the decision also reflects their connection to Goodlettsville. Having lived in the community for a decade, they are opening a business in the place where they have built their lives. Wilkinson described the appeal of investing locally in her announcement, writing, “There’s something special about being able to live and work in your own backyard, invest in the place you call home, and grow alongside the people who make it such a wonderful community.”

The studio’s approach to Pilates is an important part of what Wilkinson hopes to bring to the area. Well Body Pilates specializes in classical-style Pilates, with small-group sessions capped at five participants. Rather than offering only reformer workouts, the studio uses multiple types of Pilates equipment and provides several class formats.

“We aren’t just reformer Pilates, and we keep it down to five people,” Wilkinson told WhatNow Nashville. “So, it really is a small, intimate, very focused experience.”

The business also offers private training, barre, bounce and mat Pilates. Wilkinson explained that small groups are central to the studio’s identity and help distinguish it from businesses focused exclusively on reformer-based classes.

When asked what she hopes Goodlettsville residents can look forward to, Wilkinson pointed to the activity she has seen growing around town. “There’s a lot of momentum and excitement in Goodlettsville at the moment,” she said. She mentioned a new coffee shop and restaurant nearby, along with the arrival of other locally owned businesses.

“We’re really excited to be part of that and to bring healthy movement to the community,” Wilkinson added.

The couple is initially concentrating on opening the new studio and building out its schedule. Wilkinson said the plan is to start with a few classes, then continue adding sessions and filling out the timetable through the end of the year.

As for future expansion, she told WhatNow Nashville that the couple may consider further growth but wants to give the Goodlettsville location time to get established first. “We probably will just take a moment and get rolling in the new location and settle in and then go from there,” she said.

For now, the focus is on opening the doors on Main Street and bringing Well Body Pilates’ small-group approach to a community the owners already know well.
