A Byron resident inspired by entrepreneurship is introducing her own coffee shop to the community.
Reagan Murphree is working hard to debut her first business venture called Riverview Coffee for Byron. The new drive-thru coffee shop will be opening at 108 Saginaw Street. Right now, Riverview Coffee is listed as opening on Oct. 1.
According to a recent Argus Press article, Murphree, who is in her senior year of high school, came up with the idea for her own drive-thru coffee shop in a marketing and entrepreneurship class. She has a passion for coffee, and is being supported by her stepfather Rob Vandemark, chair of the Byron Downtown Development Authority. With the address being official, work on the coffee shop is now underway.
“We are just a few days away from beginning construction, which is expected to take about four days,” Murphree told What Now Detroit.
The brews on the menu are a range of lattes including a vanilla flavor, sugar-free vanilla, caramel, white chocolate mocha and miel. Drip coffee is also an option, with the additions of smoothies, teas and hot chocolate.
Byron is a small town with a population of a little over 500 people, just over an hour outside Detroit. Murphree’s business will be going in at the corner of Maple and S Saginaw streets, near Matador’s Pizza and Take Out. The space is empty now and is being prepared for construction.
Murphree will be providing more information on the shop closer to the opening. For more information on Riverview Coffee, visit the Instagram page @riverview_coffee.
