El Puerto Street Tacos has been announced as one of the first tenants at a new food hall in San Clemente. According to the Orange County Register, the family-run Mexican eatery from the San Diego area will join a list of other eateries this fall at Miramar Food Hall, located at 1720 N. El Camino Real.

Known for authentic street tacos, burritos, and quesadillas, El Puerto was founded in 2005 by Catalina Bazán. Its website promises all ingredients are prepared fresh daily, its aguas frescas are concentrate-free, and all tortilla chips and taco shells are made in-house, with tortillas from a local family-owned shop.

The restaurant first opened in Carlsbad before adding a second location inside the Windmill Food Hall in 2019, a property owned and managed by Tiger Hospitality Group. It’s the same company now behind the Miramar project; What Now OC covered when the group took over for former developer Landmark Food Halls earlier this year.

It will open at the restored Miramar Theatre and Bowling Center site, a landmark originally built in 1938 that has sat vacant since the ‘90s. El Puerto will join several other food and drink vendors onsite, including Oceanside’s Cosmos Burger, Temecula’s Graciously Thai, Seattle’s Moto Pizza, and Carlsbad’s RolledUp Sushi.

“We’re thrilled to welcome the community to the Miramar Food Hall this fall,” said Tiger Hospitality managing partner Berke Bakay. “With 15 diverse food offerings under one roof, we have something to suit everyone’s tastes.”
