Cesare Vangeli, who is behind Foodance in Hell’s Kitchen, has a new concept in the works in the neighborhood. Vangeli has filed paperwork with the community board for Foodance the Living Room at 690 10th Avenue. The space was formerly home to Bodywork Station.

Vangeli told What Now New York that Foodance the Living Room will act as a dual-concept space, featuring a bakery in the front and a speakeasy in the back. While the bakery will open this month, the speakeasy will not open until the end of the year, likely December.

The space will feature nine tables with 19 seats as well as one two-seat bar, according to filed paperwork. The proposed hours for the speakeasy are 5 p.m.t o 2 a.m. daily, with hours extended to 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday.

The menu features Italian fare, with appetizers like peach burrata and polpette al pomodoro (meatballs, tomato sauce, parsley, cheese and garlic). Entrees include cacio e pepe, lasagna and pasta.

The speakeasy will also feature live piano music for customers to enjoy.

Vangeli opened Italian restaurant Foodance last year at a nearby location on West 47th Street in Hell’s Kitchen. That spot serves Italian cuisine, as well.
