Almost exactly a year ago, Killjoy opened its location in East Nashville. Now, the non-alcoholic bottle spot has announced on social media that it is opening a location in Berry Hill.
Slated to open in a 1,000-square-foot space at 2813 Columbine Place this fall, Killjoy’s second location will aim to serve the south side of the Nashville area. Owner Stephanie Styll told What Now Nashville that the expansion stems from feedback they have received from people in that area who wanted a closer spot than the current East Nashville location.
“We knew we wanted a place that would be more convenient for people to get to who were coming from the south side of town,” Styll said.
Customers can expect the usual offerings at Killjoy, including adaptogenic offerings, THC and CBD beverages and other non-alcoholic options. Styll said they have recently been expanding their CBD and herbal and botanical offerings.
The brand launched in April 2023 in Wedgewood-Houston before relocating to East Nashville in 2024. Styll launched the brand after she herself quit drinking alcohol and realized there was a gap in the market for people who wanted to partake in social drinking but without the alcoholic component.
“We just want to serve the Nashville community and help to build community and help to change the culture around drinking in Nashville,” Styll said.
Expect to see events such as non-alcoholic bar nights, as well as potential collaborations with other small businesses in the area.
Eventually, further expansion could be on the horizon for Killjoy, but Styll’s focus remains set on the mission: to meet the needs of Nashvillians who want to continue to experience drinking but without the pressure to partake in alcohol.
Styll does not have an exact opening date for the Berry Hill location, but she is hoping to open sometime in October.
“Berry Hill we hope will be central for all people on the south side, and potentially there could be a west side location in the future,” Styll said. “We’ll have to see how this goes before that happens.”
This is so great for the South Nashville community!!!
