With the news that Taco Bell is bringing its beverage-focused Live Más Café concept to dozens of its stores this year, it’s looking likely that the Brea location is on that list. Construction records indicate that remodeling plans are underway at its 303 West Imperial Highway store.

The 2,045-square-foot location will undergo front-of-house upgrades, including the addition of a 250-square-foot beverage station, new equipment, fixtures, and a redesigned front counter. The dining area will also see updates with new furniture and lighting. Valerio Architects is listed as the architect, and ACIES Engineering is listed as the engineer. Construction bids were due in late August.

Live Más Café concept was first piloted in Chula Vista nearly two years ago and is now being launched all over the country. Nation’s Restaurant News reports the QSR chain will open 30 by the end of the year. Compared to traditional Taco Bell units, it’s designed around handcrafted drinks, such as chillers, aguas frescas, and specialty coffees, alongside elevated breakfast and snack options.

An Irvine location just opened this week across from the UCI campus, and plans show refreshes of Orange and Fullerton stores are coming too. Taco Bell will also debut several locations of the spinoff in Texas.
