KDC Solar Madera LLC filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of California on September 19. The Madera County-based company develops, builds, and owns multiple solar projects across California.

KDC Solar Madera Filed for Bankruptcy Protection

According to PacerMonitor, KDC Solar Madera LLC, a solar developer with projects in Madera County and a corporate office in La Jolla, San Diego County, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection on September 19. Attorney Leslie A. Cohen submitted the voluntary petition on behalf of the company.

The filing allows the Madera-based developer to restructure its finances under court supervision, and court records show the $1,738 filing fee was paid the same day.

Along with the petition, the company has several required documents due by October 3, 2025, including its Schedules of Assets and Liabilities, Statement of Financial Affairs, and Corporate Ownership Statement. The Chapter 11 Plan and Disclosure Statement are due by January 17, 2026.

According to RK Consultants, KDC Solar Madera reported assets between $1 million and $10 million. However, court filings list assets in the range of $10 million to $50 million.

KDC Solar Madera plans to restructure its debt obligations with about 49 creditors through the bankruptcy process. The company intends to continue operating while working through the court-supervised process.

The court has set a January 2026 deadline for KDC Solar Madera’s Chapter 11 plan, giving the company time to outline its path forward.
