Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii is setting its sights on more Colorado stores, with a franchisee confirming to What Now Denver that they are in negotiations for several other metro area cities. On that list is Highlands Ranch, though details of where haven’t been announced yet.

Beth Deasy of Peaks to Waves LLC, the operator behind the brand’s recent big push in the state, told the publication that it could debut as soon as the first quarter of 2026. Other neighborhoods she’s looking at for new Bad Ass sites include Lone Tree/Ridgegate, Westminster, and Broomfield.

The Highlands Ranch café would join a wave of growth for the business. Earlier this year, deals were executed for stores in Boulder, BelMar, and Castle Rock — the first of which just opened last week, according to City Biz. She previously told What Now she was interested in upwards of nine units.

Founded in 1989 on the Big Island of Hawaii, the franchise leans into its roots with a focus on premium 100% Kona coffee and the “aloha spirit”, its website advertises. Today, the company is operated by Royal Aloha Franchise Company, based in Centennial, and has more than 30 stores across the U.S.
