A new Mexican restaurant with deep family roots is making its way to Folsom.

Tres Rosas Authentic Mexican Restaurant is taking over the former site of Rameshwaram Cafe at 1167 Riley Street in the Folsom Central Shopping Center, reports the Sacramento Business Journal.

Owner and operator Liliana Alvarez-Testo, who also runs nearby favorite La Rosa Blanca, told the publication her newest venture will honor both Mexico’s culinary traditions and her own family’s heritage. The name ‘Tres Rosas,’ or three roses, is inspired by her three daughters.

Guests can look forward to homestyle Mexican staples like tamales, mole, and pozole served in a warm, family-centered atmosphere, along with margaritas and other cocktails once Alvarez-Testo secures a liquor license.

The spacious interior will seat around 90 diners, almost twice the capacity of La Rosa Blanca’s former Natoma Street location, which recently closed as Alvarez-Testo turns her attention to this new chapter.

Situated across from an aquatic center and a baseball park, Tres Rosas is slated to become a lively hub for local families and visitors alike. Renovations are already underway, with the grand opening expected before the end of 2025.

When it debuts, Tres Rosas will join a diverse lineup of eateries at Folsom Central, including Fourk Kitchen, Nara Sushi, and Round Table Pizza.
