CHAGEE, the global tea chain known for its fresh milk teas and “teaspresso” drinks, is coming to Roseville. The brand will open its first Sacramento-area shop at Westfield Galleria at Roseville, 1151 Galleria Blvd., with the opening expected in 2027.
The menu is built around tea rather than a broad café menu, with categories that include fresh milk tea, snow cap milk tea, brewed tea, teaspresso lattes and frappés and fruit tea. Its drinks are made to order from whole-leaf tea, and its menu is known for names inspired by classical Chinese poetry. Its signature milk teas pair tea leaves with fresh milk, and its teaspresso method pulls concentrated tea in a way similar to espresso.
The tea shop is part of the mall’s corridor closure project, which is also bringing the outdoor brand Arc’teryx and the fitness apparel store Free People Movement. All three are expected to open in 2027, and the Galleria is also redeveloping its outdoor promenade into a district called The Trails.
The brand was founded in 2017 in Yunnan, China, by Zhang Junjie, and it has grown to more than 7,000 stores worldwide, including across Southeast Asia. It listed on the Nasdaq in April 2025, the same month it opened its first U.S. store at Westfield Century City in Los Angeles. Since then, CHAGEE has been adding stores across California, including a San Diego teahouse at Westfield UTC, its first pet-friendly format, which opened in July, and another planned at Westfield Valley Fair in Santa Clara.
CHAGEE joins a long list of new names heading to the Galleria, many of them already covered by What Now Sacramento. Joe & The Juice, the Danish juice and coffee chain, will open a flagship café on the second level of the Nordstrom wing, while Bacio di Latte, a Brazilian-style gelato shop, is coming to the promenade. Arhaus, the home furnishings retailer, is planning its first Sacramento store in the former Forever 21 space, and The Great Big Game Show, an interactive game-show experience, is planning to open inside the mall. IJ Sushi Burrito is also set to join the dining terrace as its first California location.
The mall, owned and managed by Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield, has about 1.3 million square feet across two levels and more than 190 stores, with Macy’s, JCPenney and Nordstrom as anchors.
The Roseville plans were first reported by the Sacramento Business Journal.
