A fast-growing Yemeni coffee chain is brewing up another Greater Sacramento location.

Fresh off its Roseville debut, Haraz Coffee House is now setting its sights on 2300 Arden Way in Arden-Arcade. Mayer Zahid, who oversees franchise site development for the Michigan-based brand across Northern California and Nevada, confirmed the expansion with What Now Sacramento.

Zahid and two partners at their MIR Development Group recently purchased the 4,376-square-foot three-tenant building, and the trio will operate the new location. They also hope to lease out the neighboring endcap to a complementary concept.

The partners, whose backgrounds span franchising, business, and finance, already helped launch Haraz’s first Sacramento-area shop in Roseville and are now assisting upcoming franchisees in Folsom, Davis, Natomas, Elk Grove, and beyond.

“We became area representatives for Haraz last November,” Zahid said. “This is a unique role, where we are kind of in between a franchisee and corporate. Our goal is to help grow the brand by bringing on new franchisees, kind of acting like a local corporate support.”

True to Haraz’s roots, the new location will be designed as a family-friendly late-night destination, staying open until around 1 a.m. on weekends and until 11 p.m. or midnight on weeknights.

There are a lot of people in the area who are hanging out in the evenings, but we wanted to add an option for folks to do stuff late at night that’s also family-friendly,” explained Zahid. “Part of the Haraz brand is to provide a third space for folks that isn’t a bar or a club.”

Haraz is known for its bold Yemeni coffees made with spices like cardamom and cloves, but the menu also includes Turkish coffee, a new line of six matcha flavors, various refreshers, and other specialty drinks. Additionally, guests can expect baked goods and desserts sourced from local bakeries.

The Arden-Arcade café will occupy part of a former flower shop building and feature two floors of seating, along with a spacious patio. The café will undergo a complete renovation, including updated landscaping, lighting, and a refreshed design, with plans to open in March or April 2026.

MIR Development Group is currently seeking new franchise owners throughout the region; interested parties can reach out to [email protected] for more information.
