Kung Fu Chicken, the pink-hued Asian fried chicken restaurant, is planning an expansion.

The restaurant has announced its intention to open three new locations in the coming months, naming Kendall, Wynwood, and Miami Beach as its target areas. No specific locations or opening dates are available at this time.

Kung Fu Chicken is owned by Tingjun Lei and chef Yu Bi  The partners met at Florida International University (FIU) and both graduated in 2011. A few years later, they opened their first restaurant together — 107 Taste Asian Restaurant. From there, they opened Cajun Boil in 2018.

This year, they opened their first Kung Fu Chicken — next to FIU, where they met. In less than a year, they expanded the brand, opening a shop in Little Havana. Now, Lei and Bi continue their upward trend by opening several more locations.

Kung Fu Chicken serves crispy Asian fried chicken several ways. Guests can order fingers, served with a choice of sauces: General Tso’s, honey garlic, sweet sriracha, Kung Fu sauce (a sweet and umami dipping sauce), or can order it with a hot and tingly Szechuan Ma La powder. Sandwiches with the same flavor profiles are available, as is a Lava sandwich — crispy chicken stuffed with mozzarella cheese and sweet corn, served on a butter-toasted brioche bun with green leaf lettuce, juicy tomato, and Kung Fu sauce.

Wraps, salads, fries, and popcorn chicken round out the menu.
