An inventive New Hampshire pop-up is settling down in Boston.
Aatma Curry House is opening its first brick-and-mortar restaurant in Brighton, with a projected debut in late November 2025, according to a post shared in the Friends of Boston’s Hidden Restaurants Facebook group. Recent business filings confirm that the eatery is opening at 190 N Beacon St.
Founded by Chef Keith Sarasin and Executive Director Eric Sacco, Aatma pays homage to regional Indian cooking and culture, serving South Asian comfort food “reimagined in New England, by a white guy who didn’t grow up eating Indian food, but couldn’t stop chasing it once he did.”
“Aatma means ‘soul’ in Hindi,” reads the restaurant’s website. “We cook with soul, story, and spice. This isn’t butter chicken on autopilot, it’s a chef’s love letter to Indian cuisine, shaped by 16+ years of travel, mentors, and obsession.”
The menu will likely echo the pop-up’s playful approach, featuring dishes such as a masala-spiced beef smashburger, char-siu boneless spare ribs, masoor dal, hakka noodles, and chocolate truffles made from Parle-G biscuits, a popular Indian snack.
“Our mission is simple: To tell better stories through Indian food. To honor the aunties, chefs, and street vendors who shared their soul with us. To break rules where necessary. And to build something that gives more than it takes,” the owners explain.
Chef Sarasin confirmed the news with What Now Boston, noting he is currently in India with his team and will share more details soon. Stay tuned for grand opening updates by following Aatma Curry House on Facebook and Instagram.
