Feeding someone is one of the greatest acts of care any person-let alone a chef-can provide. The best chefs and most successful restaurants tap into that vein of nurturing, offering diners a glimpse of who they are. Chef Felipe Armenta’s Maria’s Mexican Kitchen is the restaurateur’s invitation to customers to share the cuisine he grew up cooking by his mother’s side. Irving foodies will soon be able to enjoy the restaurant’s offerings; Armenta and the Far Out Hospitality Group are bringing Maria’s to Las Colinas before the year is out, reports Culture Map Dallas.
The 5240 North O’Connor Boulevard #160 storefront will be Maria’s third location, joining Fort Worth and Odessa on the concept’s roster. Maria’s will be breathing new life into the building that housed Hugo’s Invitados until its closure in May of this year.
Locals won’t have to wait much longer to experience Maria’s elevated Mexican cuisine; a representative confirmed that the restaurant is on track to open this December.
DFW diners unfamiliar with Maria’s Mexican Kitchen are in for a treat; the restaurant defies preconceived notions of its titular cuisine. The website offers this enticing description of what’s in store: “Maria’s combines modern culinary techniques with generations old Armenta family recipes to create a truly unique dining experience featuring delectable Mexican cuisine and cocktails.”
Diners can look forward to enjoying fresh, house-made tortillas alongside a menu featuring crudos, tamales, crispy halibut tacos, and many more delicious options. Of course, no meal would be complete without a margarita, and Maria’s are celebrated and come in a variety of flavors.
