Patel Bros, an Indian Marketplace, is expected to open its first location in Austin soon. According to a recent Facebook post by Nelson Lin in the ATX Asian Food group, the Patel Bros Austin location is intended to open in the second half of 2026.
There isn’t much information about when and where exactly in Austin the new marketplace and eatery will serve the Austin community.
The Indian store is run by Mafat and Tulsi Patel, who founded the family-owned business in 1974. The company is still a family-run operation with various family members across three generations operating the business.
What Now Austin reached out to Mafat to discuss the opening, but wasn’t able to get any further details about the new store opening in Austin prior to this article’s publication.
Patel Bros is not only a multi-generational family business, it’s also a booming multi-generational family business. The family owns and operates more than 50 stores nationwide.
Besides items you can purchase to take home and cook up yourself, customers can also stop by Patel’s Fresh Kitchen to experience a variety of Indian dishes, including curry, biryani, and roghani. The eatery and shop also serve up freshly made roti and bread every day.
According to its website, at Patel Brothers, the mission is “to bring the best ingredients from South Asia, right to your doorstep. With a wide variety of authentic regional grocery and spice products, we strive to reconnect people with the familiar flavors of India.”
Though details on the exact opening and location are still to come, Austinites can rejoice about the new Patel Bros and its offerings set to come to Austin in the second half of 2026.
