One Indian restaurant is passing the torch to another in Waltham, reports Boston Restaurant Talk.
Little India Restaurant will continue operating at 475 Moody St for now, but the eatery plans to temporarily close in the coming months for renovations before reopening as Incredible India, confirmed new owner Mashal Gavale.
Founded in 1988, Little India is celebrated for its classic Indian cuisine, with options ranging from soups, samosas, and saag to curries, breads, and biryani. The restaurant was initially expected to shutter in November 2024 after the landlord declined to renew owner Bhushan Dhir‘s lease, but it ultimately stayed open month-to-month until Mashal stepped in.
Mashal, a Weston resident and owner of the catering brand Mashal’s Kitchen, told What Now Boston the restaurant will operate under the Little India name for at least the next month before closing for roughly four to six weeks of renovations. “Little India has now become Incredible India,” she said. “It will be like the name says; it will be more incredible.”
The refresh will include updated flooring and walls, new décor, and a brand-new bar, along with a new logo. “It will be a good change,” Mashal said. “Of course, the food will remain the same—the quality and everything… But we’ll add new dishes, too.”
She plans to introduce additional chaat-style street foods, including panipuri and other small plates, blending her tride-and-true catering menu with Little India’s classics, while also keeping what she describes as an “amazing” lunch buffet.
