A pair of restaurants known for their soup dumplings is opening a third location.
Journey to the Dumpling is expanding to a 5,000-square-foot space in Folsom‘s Palladio shopping center, located at 410 Palladio Pkwy. Husband-and-wife owners Yvonne and Chris Tan signed the lease on Monday, November 3.
“🚨 Exciting News! 🚨,” the team shared on social media. “Journey to the Dumpling is expanding! 🥟🎉 Our 3rd location will be coming to Folsom Palladio! We can’t wait to bring your favorite dumplings, noodles, and dishes to Folsom. Stay tuned for more updates, opening dates, and sneak peeks 👀”
The Tans launched the original Journey to the Dumpling in 2016 along Elk Grove’s Laguna Boulevard, followed by a Midtown Sacramento location in 2023. The upcoming Folsom eatery will be the largest yet.
In addition to its namesake soup dumplings (xiao long bao), Journey to the Dumpling serves a range of Chinese comfort dishes such as garlic noodles, wontons in chili oil, egg rolls, beef rolls, and stir-fried green beans, along with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. ABC10 reports that the new location will likely feature exclusive dishes made possible by the large kitchen, plus a full bar.
Yvonne told What Now Sacramento that Journey to the Dumpling’s upcoming Folsom location is expected to debut in late 2026, with more details, including an exact address, to be announced in January.
