After four decades in business, a Mainline brunch staple is set to open its 16th location as part of a broader expansion.
Nudy’s Cafe, owned by Ray Nudy, will debut in the Willow Grove shopping center.
“I have 15 other locations in the Delaware Valley and a lot of them are down in Chester and Delaware County. We’re trying to expand,” Nudy told What Now Philadelphia. “The retail and shopping center spot has a real nice outdoor patio attached to the side which is a perfect set up for us. Almost all the locations have outdoor seating.”
The roughly 3,000-square-foot location will replicate other outposts, offering the same breakfast and lunch menu.
Nudy’s Cafe serves a wide breakfast menu featuring omelets, pancakes, French toast and all-day egg plates with home fries and toast. Breakfast sandwiches come on toast, bagels, kaisers or English muffins. The menu also includes breakfast burritos, crepes, specialty French toast made from carrot, apple or pumpkin cake, and lighter options such as lox and cream cheese, yogurt parfaits and steel-cut oatmeal.
Lunch at the cafe includes sandwiches, burgers, wraps and platters, with options like Reubens, clubs, crab cakes, ahi tuna, grilled chicken and fish tacos. Salads such as Caesar, Cajun chicken and blackened tuna can be served as wraps. Sides include fries, onion rings, cole slaw and the soup of the day.
Nudy plans to continue expanding the cafe, aiming to reach 25 locations.
“I’ve been doing this for 46 years. I opened the first one and worked behind the grill for close to 25 years. In the last 20 years, we’ve been able to constantly grow, so it’s exciting. I’m looking forward to expanding our concept,” Nudy said.
Nudy’s Cafe is open Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Nudy has not announced an official opening date but said the Willow Grove location will take six months to complete. For updates, visit the cafe’s website or follow its Instagram and Facebook pages.
