Layne’s Chicken Fingers is on the path to creating quite the nest in the Greater San Antonio area, with plans to open at least 14 locations. The fast-food chain recently signed a 14-store agreement with franchisee Dylan White, with plans to open the first Layne’s Chicken Fingers in the region in Seguin at 1510 TX-46 North.
“We’re committed to being long-term partners in the community, and Seguin is just the beginning of our growth in the region. We can’t wait to open our doors!” White said via text.
What Now San Antonio caught up with both White and Layne’s Chicken Fingers’ CEO, Garrett Reed, to bring you more details about the openings.
According to this state permit, construction on the Seguin location is expected to start this December and wrap up by May of next year, with plans for a Summer 2026 opening. Reed shared that the plan is to open 20 Layne’s Chicken Fingers locations by the end of this year and 50-60 next year.
“So we’re just getting started,” Reed said.
Layne’s Chicken Fingers first hatched in 1994, as the website details. Reed shared that he and his family bought the brand in 2017. After 4-5 years, the family felt that the brand was ready to franchise, so Layne’s Chicken Fingers began franchising in 2020-2021. Reed said they’ve sold almost 400 locations, and nearly 50 are currently under construction.
“We loved the brand, the culture, and the people behind it. Layne’s has great food and a fun, welcoming energy we knew we wanted to be part of,” White said.
The menu is mouthwatering yet simple. Of course, the chicken fingers are the bedroom of this hen house. Customers can get them in a sandwich, in a wrap, or in a box meal on its own. Layne’s Chicken Fingers come spicy or original with a selection of six different sauce options to pair them with.
“It’s good for sure,” Reed said.
“Definitely the spicy tenders. They have just the right amount of heat and are always my go-to,” White said of his favorite dish.
But there’s more than chicken at the Layen’s Chicken Fingers, which also serves grilled cheese sandwiches and cravable milkshakes.
Though those spicy tenders may have been just enough to get White to buy into the Layne’s Chicken Fingers’ coop, he also has the greater San Antonio community in mind.
“We want to create jobs, support local events, and give Seguin a spot where families and locals can get great food and feel right at home,” White said.
Check out the tenders and the home vibes at the new Layne’s Chicken Fingers when the first one hatches in the Greater San Antonio area in Seguin at 1510 TX-46 North next Summer.
