Outdoor dining area will span from Elizabeth Street to North Highland Avenue on non street-facing side.

What could be better than seafood with an open-air view?

Chef Ford Fry‘s forthcoming BeetleCat, located at 280 Elizabeth Street in the Inman Quarter mixed-use development, will feature a wrap-around patio on two sides of the restaurant.

Construction on the 1,260-square-foot outdoor dining area alone will cost an estimated $200,000, according to plans filed with the City of Atlanta Monday.

Fry’s website calls BeetleCat, “a shore-style, casual cocktail lounge with a coastal 70s and 80s vibe.”

Serving as a sister restaurant to the chef’s West Midtown seafood joint, The Optimist, the BeetleCat kitchen will be led by former No. 246 chef Andrew Isabella. Lara Creasy and Eduardo Guzman will design the bar program.

The 5,788-square-foot restaurant will also have an upstairs oyster bar. Both floors will serve the full menu.

The Inman Park eatery plans to open in November.
