Erewhon, a Southern California-based organic grocer and wellness brand, is getting ready to open a new location with a cafe in Thousand Oaks at 2150 E. Thousand Oaks Boulevard.

The company’s first Ventura County location is set to move into the former home of Lassens Natural Food & Vitamins at The Lakes at Thousand Oaks, according to a recent liquor license application. While an exact opening date has not yet been announced, a company representative tells What Now LA that this site will open in Summer 2026.

When this new location opens, customers can expect Erewhon’s signature blend of grocery and cafe offerings, including fresh organic produce, prepared meals, and wellness beverages. The location will also feature a Tonic Bar for juices, smoothies, and specialty drinks.

Founded in 1968, Erewhon is a family-owned Certified B Corp and Certified Organic retailer with 10 locations across Southern California. The brand has built a reputation for sourcing nutrient-dense products, supporting local farmers, and offering a cafe experience alongside its grocery selection. Erewhon’s expansion into Thousand Oaks represents the first move outside Los Angeles County.

The Thousand Oaks location is part of the company’s broader expansion plans, which include recent openings in Manhattan Beach and West Hollywood, with new locations in Downtown Los Angeles and Glendale under development. The store will host community and wellness events in addition to its regular grocery and cafe operations.

The cafe and Tonic Bar will be a central feature of the store, with menu offerings including breakfast burritos, rotisserie chicken, Korean BBQ short ribs, salads, sandwiches, sushi, baked goods, and smoothies. The Tonic Bar will provide wellness-focused drinks and grab-and-go options for customers seeking convenient, health-conscious meals.

This will be an excellent landing spot for Erewhon, known for its lakeside setting, rose gardens, and family-friendly amenities. The store will offer both indoor and outdoor dining options, creating a space where locals can shop, eat, and connect with the community.
