Fuse Frozen is bringing one of its first franchise locations to St. Augustine. Heather and Dale Nacke will open it in a 900-square-foot space at 7474 US 1 N, Suite 102.
The brand, helmed by Justin Henshaw, began on St. Simons Island in 2012. It offers a variety of frozen yogurt, custard, gelato and sorbet.
Dale told What Now Jacksonville that they became connected with the brand when they started searching for franchise opportunities in the frozen sweets space a few years ago. He and Heather connected with Henshaw and began moving forward on plans for a franchise about a year ago.
“It’s a look and design aesthetic that we love,” Dale said. “It’s fresh, very bright, very exciting. It’s a very welcoming environment.”
The menu offers the Nackes to have some flexibility with flavors, which includes options such as taro, caramel sea salt, apple cider, cherry Jolly rancher and cake batter.
“We’ll have to get a sense of what our customers want and listen to them and see how we can accommodate them,” Dale said.
This will be the first location outside Georgia. There are currently two locations in St. Simons and one spot on Jekyll Island. Dale said that the brand is designed to be community-centered.
“There’s a regionality to it that sets it apart from some of the other chains,” Dale said. “It seems very much to be embedded in the community. It’s somewhere that has a local feel.”
Eventually, the Nackes hope to open a few more locations in the St. Augustine area. Construction is currently underway on the first location, with plans for a late January or early February opening.
