A beloved SoCal Filipino bakery brand that recently announced it will expand to Colorado has also shared that it has plans to grow into the Denver market in the future. Valerio’s Family Bakeshop, which will debut in Colorado Springs, revealed on social media that it will grow to the Mile High City down the line, as well.

“Right now we will be doing pop-ups in both Colorado Springs and Denver, but we will be opening up a storefront in Colorado Springs in the near future, and a Denver/surrounding areas store farther down the line as well,” the business wrote.

Janel Valerio Yandura, granddaughter of the founders, is leading the Colorado expansion with her husband Eric Yandura, confirmed the long-term plan to What Now Denver, saying they will “two and hopefully expand to Denver within the next 5 years.”

First, they will focus their efforts on launching Valerio’s Family Bakeshop in the Pikes Peak region. What Now covered that announcement last week; they are currently in the site selection phase. In the meantime, they will be doing pop-up events with their food truck.

The brand has roots dating back more than four decades and three generations. In 1979, founders Victor Valerio Sr. and Milagros Valerio opened their first bakery in National City, and their son and daughter-in-law expanded to a Los Angeles outpost in the late 90s. Janel’s family still runs those locations.

“I never expected to open a bakery, but it kept calling my name… I am a third-generation Valerio baker, and I take pride in what my family has accomplished,” she shared.
