With locations all over the U.S., Kura Revolving Sushi Bar is an “innovative and tech interactive Japanese restaurant concept established in 2008.” Offering authentic Japanese sushi, the brand is expanding in the Greater Austin area. This week, What Now came across documents submitted to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for a new Kura Revolving Sushi Bar, which would open at 5601 Brodie Lane, Suite 1400 in Sunset Valley.

The project, which has an estimated price of $1.4 million, expects to begin construction in April and complete it at the end of August.

Featuring classic nigiri and sashimi, plus hand rolls in seaweed or rice paper, gunkan, and a selection of soup and noodles, Kura Sushi is a great spot for legit sushi. Nigiri choices include not just salmon and tuna but also Hokkaido Scallop, American Wagyu, Conch, and Eel. Noodle dishes included Udon choices like Beef Udon and Shrimp Tempura Udon, and ramens like Tantanmen and Shoyu Ramen.

Opening in the Sunset Valley Village retail center on Brodie Lane, near the intersection with Ernest Robles Way, the new Kura Revolving Sushi Bar would join a restaurant community that includes fast-casual favorites like Cava, Raising Cane’s Chicken Fingers, and Schlotzsky’s.
