In June 2023, What Now reported on plans for EZ Eatz by Yaya, then a Jacksonville-based food truck, to open its first brick-and-mortar restaurant at 3520 St. Johns Bluff Rd S, Suite 5, in Jacksonville. And now, only a few years later, the Moroccan restaurant is preparing to expand once again, this time to 1023 Park St. in Jacksonville’s historic Five Points neighborhood—the former food truck’s second brick-and-mortar.

Serving up “Moroccan Mediterranean Goodness,” the restaurant has made its mark with popular dishes like the Shawarma Rice Bowl, Seafood Tagine, Chicken Mhamar, and lots more—including family-sized meals like the Mixed Grill Family Style.

“From the moment you walk in, it’s more than just food—it’s tradition brought to life,” the EZ Eatz website says. “Every dish is grilled over real charcoal, just like it’s done back home. We’re not fast food, we’re good food served fast. Whether you’re grabbing a wrap for lunch or settling in for couscous and tagine, this is where comfort, flavor, and culture come together.”

Opening in the Park Street location, EZ Eatz by Yaya will bring even more variety to a restaurant community that includes Hoptinger Bier Garden & Sausage House, Hawkers Asian Street Food, HolySmoke Barbeque, and Homespun Kitchen.

What Now reached out to owner Yahia Zrikem on Wednedsay to ask about plans for the opening. Zrikem was not immediately available for comment.
